Created by lee 9 years ago
Diane was born on the 30th of September 1961 at home in Hartley Road, Luton to Joyce and Brian Hines. A normal birth at 42 weeks weighing in at a very healthy 9lbs. She was the second of three daughters; the eldest Susan and the youngest Carol. She enjoyed a normal and happy childhood and had many wonderful family holidays in Cornwall with family friends Auntie Pearl, Uncle Doug and their two daughters Nicola and Beverly. Diane attended Norton Road junior School from 1966 to 1972 then went on to Denby High School from 1972 to 1973 until going to the newly built Lea Manor High School from 1973 to 1978. Diane met her best friend Janet at Lea Manor High School, thus started a true and loving friendship which has endured the years. Diane started part time work at Jone's Hat Factory at the age of thirteen, her nanny worked there as well. Diane started full time work there upon leaving School at the age of 16 until the factory closed its doors in 1982. Diane had a very strong work ethic and worked in several places over the next few years which include. Whitbread's brewery; June 82 to September 84 Palmer & Harvey; November 84 to May 85 Christmas Crackers; May 85 to June 85 White Arrow parcel delivery; June85 to October 85 Parceline parcel delivery; October 85 to March 86 Arrow business supplies; April 86 to May 90 Wherever she went, she made friends, with her positive and bubbly personality you couldn't fail but to love her. Diane married in September 1982 to her first husband but this was not to last as they separated in August 1985 and the marriage was finally dissolved in September 1986. Diane started work at White Arrow parcel delivery in June 1985 where she met 'the love of her life' and future husband, Lee who worked there as a supervisor. They became very close friends, and went out for a drink and chatted for hours in August 85 they very much enjoyed each other's company, thus started a new chapter in their lives. Lee just knew there was something very special about her". There friendship blossomed in to love and in October 1986 they bought a house in Luton and moved in together and so began such happy times. They were inseparable and just loved to be together, Diane even loved to go fishing with Lee and his dad until he sadly passed away in December 1989. Diane and Lee married on the 12th of November 1988 it was a very special unforgettable day, and they enjoyed over 25 years of marital bliss. They went on a late honeymoon in September 1989 to Disneyworld in Florida where Diane was in her element with the fairy tales and dolphins she never wanted to leave and Lee had found his princess. Diane was so full of the joys of life; she truly never had a bad word to say about anyone. She was so loved by all of lee's family; his mum (Pam) treated her like a daughter, her partner Des was very fond of her and Wayne and Tracy thought of her as a sister. Family has always been so important to Diane and in July 1990 she became a very proud mum to her first son Christopher and two years later the birth of her second son Martin in September 1992. Now her family was complete. Diane really enjoyed married life and motherhood she was so proud of her two boys; Then followed so many great family memories over the years; plus three magical holidays in Disneyworld Florida in 2000, 2003 and again 2005 were everybody had such an amazing unforgettable time. Diane and Lee set up a family business in 2005 they worked very hard to build up the business it was a real struggle with many set backs, they had to forgo family holidays and weekends together. It is so sad that Diane will not see the benefits as the business is now beginning to flourish. Family meant the world to her and she was so proud of her son's achievements, whether big or small! Christopher has gone into the family business and Martin to Lancaster University to study Mechanical Engineering. It is very sad that Diane will not be able to see Martin graduate as she would of been so proud of him. Diane had a serious accident in May 2009 at work breaking her pelvis in two places and breaking one off her ribs. She spent several weeks laving flat on her back on a hospital bed and was laid up for several months after that at home before being able to get back to normal life. In September 2012, Diane became very tired and unwell; she was misdiagnosed and lost over two stone in weight before being rushed into to hospital for a emergency operation for a blocked bowel in January 2013; During the operation they removed her right colon, It wasn't until after caring out a biopsy on the removed colon that they eventually diagnosed her with bowel cancer. This was followed by Chemotherapy which took so much out of her that they were unable to give her the full course of treatments. Initially things seemed to be going well and indications were that Diane was in remission in August, September 2013. However at this time Diane's sister (Sue) lost her husband Dave to Cancer, quite unexpectedly. This was a big shock to Diane as she was close to her brother in law and couldn't believe there was nothing that could be done for him. Just a month later, something was found in Diane's blood and after waiting ages for a CT scan she was told on the 6th December 2013, that the cancer had returned, they had found a 8cm mass on her ovaries and two small metastasis in her perineum and that the cancer was terminal. Then followed a one week course of radiotherapy in January 2014, at Addenbrooke's Hospital. Over the next few months thankfully the Cancer did not progress and then in April 2014, it was decided it would be best for Diane to have a second course of Chemotherapy at Bedford Hospital which started in May 2014, but Diane had to be rushed back into Bedford Hospital on the 6th of June 2014, where it was found to have spread into the other side of her bowels and to the liver. they operated on her bowels and fitted a stoma to her abdomen. but sadly the operation was only to buy Diane a little more time with her family as she was told that she only had a few months to live. After the operation Diane was sent to St Johns Hospice for excellent rest bite care, after a few days Diane was feeling a lot better and back on her feet she was well enough to go back home on 22nd of June. it was decide it would good for Diane to go back on the Chemotherapy in July 2014, but unfortunately this only made her very unwell and sick again and on the 7th of September Diane went back into St John's Hospice, Moggerhanger where the members of staff were amazing. She was obviously in a lot of pain and on so many different Drugs but she never let on or complained about anything. Unfortunately, it all became to much for her and sadly on the 13th of September 2014, Diane passed away in her sleep, with her husband and love of her life beside her. She died as she had lived- with dignity and gentleness.
